The Axi-Rad® is a GM patented thermoplastic retainer that captures fasteners in a wide variety of components. The fastener stays in place during shipping and handling, so the module arrives ready to place and tighten at final assembly. The Axi-Rad® improves throughput by moving all fastener handling off the final assembly line. It also eliminates downtime and maintenance associated with the automated fastener feeding equipment. The Axi-Rad® eliminates extra parts that need to be assembled, because it puts the part where you want it-in place in the assembly.
