Product Description:
Forest City Technologies applies fluorinated ethylene propylene to internally and externally threaded
fasteners and stampings. The fluoropolymer coating is applied to threads, primarily to repel the electrodeposited
primers (E-coat) that fasteners incur prior to assembly. This fluoropolymer coating also prevents weld splatter
that is generated during the attachment of weld studs and weld nuts, from adhering to the coated surface areas.
A low-bake version (300° F cure) of our fluoropolymer coating is also available, making it the friendly
choice for heat-sensitive finishes such as phosphate, zinc and copper flash.
Color:
Light green
Typical Applications:
Weld studs, weld nuts, pierce studs, pierce nuts, nut plates and stampings
Pre-treatment Surface Requirements:
In the majority of applications the substrate is plain steel, although it can be of a number of different finishes.
The surface must be reasonably clean of dirt and oils prior to application of material. When necessary, parts
are subjected to an aqueous wash or solvent degreasing process.
Post-treatment Surface Requirements:
Rust inhibitor solution is applied to finished parts, when required.
Approved Specifications:
Forest City Technologies performs complete torque tension & e-coat
testing on each lot of parts processed to ensure exceptional quality. |
