Product Description:
Forest City Technologies produces mastic sealing washers for a variety of sealing applications. Pre-assembly of mastic washers to fasteners and stampings is available In-house. Compounding keeps material costs at a minimum and allows for quick delivery. Mastic is a deformable, uncured synthetic rubber, It can be captured under washer and screw heads to fill voids that could create leaks. It provides a good barrier against noise and sound and it seals out moisture, dust and dirt.

Typical Applications:
Screw/washer and washer/nut assemblies, Washer sealing nuts in trim areas, Sealing trunk area and floor pan through holes.

Expandable Mastic:
In addition to the standard or “crushable” mastic rubber provided, Forest City offers an expandable mastic rubber compound. This rubber-like sealant expands during baking processes (typically e-coat ovens), making for a firm joint and extra material to fill in larger gaps or leak paths produced by stamped holes or difficult alignments.
