Applications:
Rimlex® is a pre-applied sealing material, which can be applied to drain plugs, rivet nuts, the under head bearing surfaces of fasteners, and other components. Rimlex® can replace copper, aluminum and other more expensive sealing washers. Rimlex® can also be used as an electrical connector sealing/potting compound.

Rimlex® incorporates a unique material, which is a flexible organic-based product. When components are assembled and clamped, the Rimlex® compresses, forcing it into the under head gaps between mating services, forming a seal. Rimlex® has excellent chemical resistance to automotive fuels, oils, brake fluid, antifreeze and transmission fluids.

Rimlex® is a pre-applied seal, eliminating the need for additional in-house assembly of gaskets and O-rings. In addition to replacing simple 'O' ring applications, more complex shapes can also be followed. Its versatility allows it to be used in many other gasket applications. Rimlex® is inert, non-hazardous, and will resist paint curing temperatures, so it may be applied to body component assemblies prior to finishing. Rimlex® applications are being used by Ford, Jaguar, Rover, Land Rover, JCB, Perkins and Toyota on various body and engine components.

Rimlex® exhibits excellent re-use capabilities and will seal after multiple re-uses, even when under torsional pressure.

Surface Requirements:
This product is especially suitable for rivet nuts/tubes and can be readily applied to aluminum, zinc and its alloys, nickel, organic coatings and stainless steel.

The Rimlex® material applied by Forest City Technologies is approved under the following automotive specs: Ford WSS-M4G365-A2, Rover RES 22 FP 05, Perkins PMS P.1.13, Eaton (Pending Approval) and Textron Fastening Systems P1248
