Dip Spin Coatings
Forest City Technologies' dip spin coating process is used when a fully coated part is required for corrosion protection and overall surface coverage. This process is well suited for high-volume fastener and component applications where consistent coating coverage and repeatable performance are critical.
Automotive specifications: General Motors GM6076M and GMW15822, Ford WSS-M21P27-A3, and Chrysler PS-8542.
Nylon Powder Coating
Nylon powder coating can be applied to stampings and selected fastener areas to support corrosion protection, lubricity, wear resistance, mechanical resistance, or electrical insulation and barrier properties. Depending on the application, Forest City Technologies can apply nylon powder using electrostatic spray for selective-area coating, such as under the heads of bolts, or through a dip process for coating the end or side of a part.
Typical application areas: stampings, fastener bearing surfaces, selective coated areas under bolt heads, component ends, side-coated parts, and applications requiring a protective nylon barrier.
Automotive specifications: GM MG3513-7, MG3513-1, and GM4383-M; Ford ESB-M4D240-A, WSS-M4D240-A2, and ESB-M70J6-A; and Chrysler MSDM-20.
FP Fluoropolymer Coating
Forest City Technologies FP is a fluoropolymer-based protective coating applied to internal or external threads and selected fastener surfaces. It is used as a barrier or thread mask to help block E-coat deposition and reduce weld spatter adhesion. This coating is commonly used on weld nuts, pierce nuts, studs, and other fasteners where protected threads must remain functional after downstream coating or welding operations.
