Precision Adhesive Tape Converting for Faster, More Reliable Assembly

Forest City Technologies uses automated laminating, cutting, placement, and assembly processes to convert adhesive tapes into repeatable, production-ready components for attachment, bonding, sealing, spacing, and protection.

Adhesive performance depends on the complete interface: tape construction, substrate, surface condition, geometry, load, environment, placement, and assembly sequence. Forest City Technologies helps customers convert and integrate adhesive materials so they arrive ready for efficient, consistent use in production.

Automated equipment can laminate adhesive tapes to foam, plastic, or metal substrates; cut or kiss-cut finished profiles; apply structural bonding tapes to customer components; and package converted parts as individual units, bulk components, cards, or reels. The objective is not simply to supply tape—it is to create an assembly-ready solution that reduces handling, placement variation, and secondary labor.

Lightweighting

Core Capabilities

  • Automated laminating: Adhesive tapes laminated to foam, plastic, metal, and other compatible substrates.
  • Precision two-dimensional converting: Skiving, die cutting, kiss cutting, flash cutting, waterjet cutting, and laser cutting selected around material, tolerance, and volume.
  • Structural bonding tape application: Controlled application to components requiring durable attachment across demanding environments.
  • Component preparation: Tabs, liners, cards, reels, and presentation formats designed to support handling and installation.
  • Value-added assembly: Converted adhesive components integrated with customer parts to reduce downstream steps.
  • Purpose-built automation: Equipment, tooling, fixturing, and controls developed for repeatable placement and throughput.

Typical Application Needs

  • Structural attachment to metal, plastic, or glass-related assemblies
  • Brackets, clips, mounts, hardware, and trim components
  • Sealing, spacing, cushioning, vibration dampening, and noise control
  • Insulating or protective layers for electronics and industrial equipment
  • Pre-applied adhesive components that improve operator placement
  • Laminated constructions combining multiple functional materials
